Join world-famous calligrapher, Charles Pearce, in a series of lettering arts workshops in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Charles opens his newly designed and built Whiskey Spring Studio in the beautiful Ozark mountains, to calligraphers for hands-on training.

Whiskey Spring calligraphy workshops are 2, 3, 5, or 7 days in length and are designed to be taught to a Group, Club, or Guild with one point of contact for fees and arrangements. The more students attending the workshop, the lower the per student fee (see below). A 25% down payment is required two months prior to the beginning of the workshop. We do not currently accept credit card payments, personal checks only.

FEES: $75.00 per person per day based on the maximum of eight students for periods of two days, three days, five days, or seven days. If the number of students is smaller in number then the costs rise per student as follows:

7 students - $86 per person per day
6 students - $100 per person per day
5 students - $120 per person per day
4 students - $150 per person per day
3 students - $200 per person per day
2 students - $300 per person per day

The workshop may be cancelled by the Group up to four weeks prior to the workshop, with 80% of the down payment refunded. Cancellation by the Whiskey Spring, full down payment will be refunded. The balance of the total fee is payable one week prior to the first day of the workshop.

One-on-one apprenticeships for a period of one week are also available on a somewhat different fee structure. Please inquire about those separately.

TRAVEL: Travel to and from Eureka Springs must be arranged and paid for by the student. Airports and driving instructions can be found HERE. Local maps are available on the Whiskey Spring website, including downloadable PDFs.

LODGING: Lodging at a local motel can be chosen and arranged by Whiskey Spring Studio at an approximate cost of $45 per night, taxes not included. Payment in full for the accomodations one week prior to the workshop.

Any cancellation refund will depend on the terms of the individual motel/hotel.

MEALS: Any and all meals may be prepared at my house; I have a fairly well-appointed kitchen. There will be a refrigerator for student use in the basement. The one in the kitchen is not large enough to hold food for 8 or 9 people. I would suggest that most meals be prepared here, and that we go out for a meal occasionally, There are many restaurants here, and like everywhere else, some are better than others!

Whiskey Spring Studio is a short drive from downtown Eureka Springs. Basic calligraphy supplies that you need to bring with you have been outlined in the course description. Please be advised that the nearest arts supply store is 200 miles away, so please bring supplies with you.

SAFETY: Whiskey Spring Studio and Eureka Springs are within the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Please be prepared for a mountainous and forested environment. Some of the workshop time may be held out of doors, weather permitting. For your safety, please bring appropriate clothes and shoes.
